Using Your Ikon Pass at Sun Valley

Ikon Pass Holders enjoy up to 7 days of unrestricted access at Sun Valley and Snowbasin. They also receive 12 Friends & Family discounts of 25% off day window tickets at both resorts.

Ikon Base Pass Plus Holders receive up to 5 days of access (with holiday blackouts) at Sun Valley and Snowbasin. They also receive 8 Friends & Family discounts of 25% off day window tickets at both resorts. 

Once all days have been used on the Ikon Pass, there is no discount on lift tickets for additional visits. 

Ikon Base Pass Holders do not have access to Sun Valley or Snowbasin.

Why did Sun Valley and Snowbasin decide to join new partnerships beginning with the 2022–23 season?

Sun Valley and Snowbasin wanted to provide more options for our guests, introduce other pass holders to our resorts, and be part of two passes within the industry that match the needs of guests in our markets. This is strictly a season pass partnership and does not constitute any ownership with either partner.

What is the relationship between Sun Valley, Snowbasin, and Ikon Pass?

Sun Valley and Snowbasin remain independently owned and operated. They formed a pass partnership, starting with the 2022-23 winter season, with Ikon Pass to offer benefits to each other’s season pass holders.

How long will Sun Valley and Snowbasin be a part of Ikon Pass?

There is a multi-year partnership with both Ikon Pass and Mountain Collective starting with the 2022-23 winter season.

Do Sun Valley and Snowbasin still offer the typical suite of season passes?

Yes – Sun Valley and Snowbasin season passes will offer the typical suite of passes with a few adjustments to benefit season pass holders. Sun Valley and Snowbasin offers a platinum product at each resort that receive an Ikon Base Pass, 50% off lift tickets to all Mountain Collective Resorts, in addition to all access and benefits of the Sun Valley Challenger and Snowbasin Premier passes.

What benefits will Sun Valley and Snowbasin season pass holders receive at Ikon Pass destinations?

For the 2024–25 winter season, Sun Valley Challenger Platinum Pass Holders and Snowbasin Premier Platinum Pass Holders will receive an Ikon Base Pass. The Ikon Base Pass offers access to 50 worldwide destinations.

  • The 2024–25 Ikon Base Pass is a pass benefit of the Sun Valley Challenger Platinum Pass or Snowbasin Premier Platinum Pass.
  • The Ikon Base Pass offers access to over 40 Alterra Mountain Company Destinations and Partner Resorts that accept the Ikon Pass.
  • The Ikon Base Pass you receive through your Sun Valley Challenger Platinum Pass or Snowbasin Premier Platinum Pass is not eligible for Confidence to Buy and not eligible to upgrade to the Ikon Base Plus Pass or Ikon Pass.
  • The Ikon Base Pass you receive through your Sun Valley Challenger Platinum Pass or Snowbasin Premier Platinum Pass requires your primary pass product to be in good standing.
  • The Ikon Base Pass you receive through your Sun Valley Challenger Platinum Pass or Snowbasin Premier Platinum Pass is non-transferable and for personal use only.
  • The Ikon Base Pass you receive through your Sun Valley Challenger Platinum Pass or Snowbasin Premier Platinum Pass is valid for the 2024–25 ski season only and is not eligible for spring 2024 access or summer 2024 access.

What benefits will Ikon Pass holders receive at Sun Valley and Snowbasin?

Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass Plus will receive access to Sun Valley and Snowbasin.

  • Ikon Pass holders will receive up to seven days of unrestricted access at both Sun Valley and Snowbasin and 12 Friends & Family discounts of 25 percent off day window tickets at both resorts.
  • Ikon Base Plus Pass holders will receive up to five days with holiday blackout days at both Sun Valley and Snowbasin and eight Friends & Family discounts of 25 percent off day window tickets at both resorts.
  • For both Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Plus Pass holders, once they have used their seven and five days at Sun Valley and Snowbasin there is no discount on lift tickets for additional visits.
  • Ikon Base Pass holders will not receive access to Sun Valley or Snowbasin.

Will Sun Valley and Snowbasin accept Ikon Pass Friends & Family discounts?

Yes – Sun Valley and Snowbasin will accept the 25% off Friends & Family vouchers issued by Ikon Pass and redeemed at www.ikonpass.com prior to your arrival at either resort.
