Sun Valley Resort Announces 2023 Summer Events Lineup

Marcus King Featuring Taylor & The Train Robbers Set to Headline Sun Valley’s Fourth of July Concert at the Pavillion

Sun Valley, ID (May 18, 2023) – Sun Valley Resort announces its kickoff to the summer season with mountain operations starting back up on Bald Mountain on June 23 for lift-accessed hiking and access to Roundhouse which will be open seven days a week. Lift-accessed mountain biking will follow, starting July 1. Fourth of July celebrations will fill the week from July 1-7, including free yoga and live music at River Run, a pickleball tournament, ballet at the Sun Valley Pavilion, a special concert featuring Marcus King & Tylor and The Train Robbers, fireworks, Sun Valley On Ice, and more.

“Summers in Sun Valley are special and are a time full of reflection, nostalgia and classic familyfriendly fun for both locals and guests visiting from near and far,” said Pete Sonntag, Sun Valley Resort GM and VP. “We’ve been working hard on our Fourth of July week full of events including a marquee concert headlined by Marcus King, and are thrilled to welcome guests and their families to celebrate the kickoff to summer with us.”

July 1 marks Bald Mountain’s opening day for lift-accessed mountain biking and which will kick off with a free one-hour class held at River Run Plaza, presented by Brass Ranch. Attendees should bring their own yoga mat and water. July 1-2 the Dutch National Ballet will be performing at the Sun Valley Pavilion. Tickets can be purchased here. Sun Valley’s Official Summer KickOff Party will take place at the River Run Plaza on Sunday, July 2. Celebrate the opening of summer operations with live music, yard games, and food & beverage at River Run.

The first Sun Valley on Ice show returns July 3 featuring Olympian Mariah Bell, a 2022 United States Gold Medalist. Shows featuring medal-winning headline skaters alongside a talented cast will take place every Saturday beginning July 22 through September 2. 

Marcus King & Tylor and The Train Robbers presented by Sun Valley and RJK Entertainment will headline on July 4 from 6:30-10PM at the Pavilion, followed by fireworks to create a night to remember. Doors open at 5:30PM. Visit the Sun Valley Resort website for the detailed holiday events calendar.

The activities lineup continues all summer long with River Run Summer Series beginning late July for live music, family fun and extended lift hours. Yoga will be held on the Pavilion Lawn, River Run base and the top of Bald Mountain at Lookout. Don't miss the artistic expression at Sun Valley Writers' Conference and the Sun Valley Music Festival.

The golf season will commence on Saturday May 20, with the opening of White Clouds and the back nine holes of the 7,214 yard-long Elkhorn Golf course. The front nine of Elkhorn and the 6,986-yard Trail Creek championship course will open later this spring. Sun Valley Resort’s golf courses offer the country’s most amazing views on world renowned greens for every level golfer. Bald Mountain summer lift tickets and passes are now on sale. With over 400 miles of singletrack spread throughout the valley, individuals of all ages and experience levels can find an activity to suit their needs from mountain biking to hiking. The technical and rugged trails on Bald Mountain now boast the country's longest purpose-built downhill route and 3,100 feet of lift-access trails. The more relaxed White Cloud Trails offer stunning views of the valley and a great hiking or biking experience for beginners and families.
