Sun Valley Resort Named Host of Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals on FIS 2024-25 Alpine Calendar

Pending final FIS council approval in September 2024, Sun Valley Resort looks to host the world’s top alpine ski competitors at the first-ever Stifel Sun Valley Finals

Sun Valley, ID (June 5, 2024) – Sun Valley Resort is proud to be named on the FIS Alpine Calendar as host of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Final in Sun Valley, March 22-27, 2025. The event is still subject to FIS ratification in September 2024 and will not be officially confirmed until then. The Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals will bring together the world’s best alpine ski athletes on Sun Valley’s long historied slopes as they vie for the top spot in the downhill, super-G, giant slalom and slalom races.

“Sun Valley Resort has always been about ‘firsts,’ as America’s original destination ski resort with the world’s first chairlift,” said Pete Sonntag, Sun Valley Resort GM and VP. “From the very beginning, Sun Valley has attracted top-level ski racers from all over the globe with our technical and challenging terrain, setting the standard for high-level competition. Our legacy in ski racing dates back to the first Harriman Cup races of the 1930s, our first FIS World Cup in 1975, and most recently the U.S. Alpine Championships in 2023 and 2024, and we could not be more thrilled to continue making history as host of the first Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals in Sun Valley.

The schedule of events is as follows:

  • March 22- Men's and Women's Downhill
  • March 23- Men's and Women's Super G
  • March 24- Off day, no race events
  • March 25- Women's Giant Slalom
