Community Gingerbread Contest

Community Gingerbread Contest

Gather your friends, family, and co-workers and make a gingerbread house to support your favorite local nonprofit!

Details

Gingerbread houses will be on display and open for voting throughout the holiday season in the Boiler Room. The nonprofits listed on the top three winning entries will be the beneficiaries of a donation from the Sun Valley Company. One vote per viewer may be submitted during this time frame and viewers may select up to 3 of their favorite entries. Viewers must visit the display in person and have a cell phone and email address to vote.

Entry Rules:

  • Most components must be edible. All foil or plastic wrapped candies must be unwrapped; lollipops cannot have paper or plastic stems.

  • You may use a cardboard structure frame and glue to hold together your structure, but the cardboard and glue should be covered with edible items.

  • You may add electric lighting to your entry.

  • Entries must be freestanding and attached to a sturdy base (we suggest wood or heavy weight cardboard). The sturdy base must be concealed; we suggest attaching a pretty ribbon around the sides of the base.

  • All entries must provide a title of their entry, 50-200 word description of their organization, business or nonprofit and a website address for the public to find more information. This information will be on display with the entry for the public to learn more about the entrant.

  • Sun Valley Company reserves the right not to display an entry, if the entry is not considered of show quality.

  • One entry per person but multiple entries can be made on behalf of a nonprofit.
