Closures on Warm Springs for Stifel Sun Valley Finals Race Course Prep
In preparation for the 2025 Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals on March 20th-27th, 2025, Sun Valley Resort will experience intermittent terrain closures on the Warm Springs side of the mountain for A-net installation and race course prep. The schedule of these impacts is outlined below.
Impacts with localized closures will continue due to grooming and fine-tuning of terrain from Monday, February 17th onwards. Testing for the race course will begin on Saturday, March 1st through Tuesday, March 4th with certain sections closed and full closure on Wednesday, March 5th.
Terrain Closures
Thursday, March 6th – The end of March:
- Skiers can expect the entirety of the course to be closed for final preparation and set up, load in of equipment, training, and break down. Trails affected by this closure are as follows: International, Warm Springs Face, Mid Warm Springs to Kenny's, Upper Greyhawk, Mid Greyhawk, Lower Greyhawk, Upper Hemingway, Mid Hemingway, Lower Hemingway, Upper Cozy, Mid Cozy, and Lower Cozy.
*There's nothing more important to us than safety at Sun Valley. Right now, we ask for respect and compliance in hosting this event successfully and safely. Exiting the resort boundary and then re-entering on the Warm Springs side during this event is prohibited. Re-entering at your chosen location is not allowed in our special use permit. During a large ski race like this, it is especially dangerous due to the extensive netting infrastructure, electrical equipment, timing wires and cables. Crossing into one of these areas can pose a serious risk or death to spectators or athletes. Skiing or riding in closed terrain will result in the loss of your pass for a minimum of two weeks.
Remember: Whenever entering into the backcountry, always bring the appropriate rescue gear and travel with a partner.
There is plenty of free spectator viewing along the course and at the finish area. We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting this event and look forward to welcoming you to a safe and exciting event!
Parking Lot Closures
- As of Wednesday, March 19th, there is no parking at Warm Springs except for a limited number of Warm Spring parking permit holders.

Additionally, from March 20th–27th, foot traffic passengers will not be permitted on Challenger Lift for loading or downloading.
Dates and schedules are tentative and dependent on weather and other conditions.
