With natural snow flying, snowmaking in progress and lift tickets officially on sale, it’s time to gear up for another incredible year at Sun Valley. Though the start of the season is still around the corner, there’s no need to wait to get into the seasonal spirit. We’re bringing the community back throughout November for a full lineup of events that are sure to build anticipation for our fast-approaching Opening Day.
Anticipation is best served with a side of popcorn. The Sun Valley Opera House kicks off their season with a double-feature screening event that is sure to get you stoked for Opening Day. Catch the much-anticipated new project from Crazy Karl, Brap Ski 2, and look out for local ski legends, WingTai Barrymore, McKenna Peterson, and Ridge Dirksmeirer. Stick around as the screening party continues with Matchstick Productions’ latest film, Anywhere but Here.
And be sure to return to the Opera House later this month, as we round out the pre-season energy with four screenings of Warren Miller’s newest film, Daymaker. You won’t want to miss seeing Sun Valley’s own Karl Fostvedt on the big screen, showing November 17-19th.
The tradition continues! Our fan-favorite Pray for Snow party returns to River Run Lodge Plaza on November 12th. Come dressed in your best vintage outfits and get ready to hit the dance floor, as we celebrate the people—namely our amazing community and hard-working employees—that made our recent recognition as SKI Magazine’s #1 Ski Resort possible.
Don’t forget to bring healthy dried and canned goods, as well as gently used coats, to donate to the Hunger Coalition. As a thank you for your generosity, we will be raffling off awesome Sun Valley prizes throughout the evening.
The most delicious way to refuel on mountain days—winter reservations for our popular restaurants are now open! Don’t miss the warmth and history of the Ram’s heritage menu, or the breathtaking views from the Roundhouse dining room perched atop 7,700 feet of elevation on Bald Mountain, among other unforgettable dining options.
Plus, set your Thanksgiving table in Sun Valley style with our special holiday to-go meals. Put more “holiday” back into your holiday weekend, and allow us to do the cooking this year.
Following tradition, Opening Day is set for Thanksgiving, November 24th. And, this year, we’re excited to offer even more ways to come home to Sun Valley, thanks to our new partnership with the Ikon Pass. In addition to our renewed relationship with the Mountain Collective Pass, which offers up to two days of resort access, Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass Plus holders can enjoy up to seven or five days at the resort, respectively. Guests are also invited to purchase our standard lifts tickets, with 1 to 4 day tickets available for Bald Mountain and 1 to 2 day tickets available for Dollar Mountain, for purchase on our website now.
Raise your confidence on the mountain with lesson services tailored to your specific needs. Whether you’re looking to get one-on-one attention in our popular Classic Private Lesson or if you prefer to learn in group settings, our professionally trained instructors are here to develop skills that will help bring you closer to your ideal day on the slopes.
Children and adults can participate in both private and group/family lessons. Have little ones that are ready to try a lesson? Our Alpine Au Pair program for children ages 3-5 engages the smallest members of your group in a fun and safe environment.
For those who are preparing to take on new runs and for those who are just starting to fall in love with the sport, we are here to help you make the most of your days among our beautiful and iconic terrain.
