Nordic Skiing & Snowshoeing

With 37 km of trails groomed daily for skate and classic skiing, the Sun Valley Nordic & Snowshoe Center provides a head-clearing experience. Ski and snowshoe equipment for all ages is available to rent at the Nordic Center located at the Sun Valley Club.

WEEK 1 – Foundations & Body Position

Classic: Balance, weight transfer, diagonal stride fundamentals

Skate: Basic stance, V1 technique introduction

*Includes terrain awareness & equipment overview


WEEK 2 – Movement Efficiency

Classic: Kick mechanics, poling timing

Skate: Glide phase development, V1 on flats & gentle climbs


WEEK 3 – Climbing & Descending

Classic: Herringbone, step turns, downhill control

Skate: V2 Alternate introduction, climbing strategies

*Small-group technique coaching


WEEK 4 – Putting It All Together

Classic: Long-glide techniques, rhythm & endurance

Skate: V2, transitions, sustained skiing on mixed terrain

*Fun group ski
